Kim Giam is a senior HR professional with more than 20 years experience in broad-based regional HR in Asia Pacific. Complemented with a strong background in chemistry, she spent more than ten years in technical roles in medical research and chemical laboratories before entering the HR profession. This served as a strong foundation for her analytical skills. Kim is constantly in contact with her interpersonal and soft skills as a result of her years of experience in regional HR lead roles in Asia Pacific which gives her a good understanding of Asian and Western cultures.


Her last held role was Head of HR for Asia Pacific with Syngenta, a major European agro-chemicals company. She was with Syngenta for five years, based initially in Hong Kong. Kim returned to Singapore when Syngenta relocated the Asia Pacific operational headquarters to Singapore. Kim’s regional responsibility with Syngenta covered 14 countries in Asia Pacific with staff strength in excess of 3,500. Prior to Syngenta, Kim worked eight years for Nokia, initially as Head of HR for South East Asia & Pacific and later, as Director of HR for China. In the latter posting, she was based in Beijing overseeing staff strength in excess of 5,000 employees.

Kim holds an MBA from Cranfield University and a Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the Singapore Institute of Management.
